CHILLI FISH STIR FRY RECIPE | SPICY CHINESE COD FISH
INGREDIENTS:
Fish marinade:
1 to 1 1/2 pounds cod cut in 1 1/2″ cubes
sprinkle of salt
1/4 tsp. white pepper
sprinkle of hot chili pepper – optional
1 egg white
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. flour
2-3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sesame oil
*Mix above ingredients and let marinate for 15-20 minutes
Heat vegetable oil on medium high heat to 350 degrees.
Divide fish into 2 batches.
Fry for 3-5 minutes depending on fish size or until golden brown.
Drain on paper towel.
Sauce:
1/3 cup water
2 tsp. siracha sauce or chili garlic sauce – to your taste
2 Tbsp. ketchup
2 tsp. white vinegar
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. dark soy sauce
1 tsp. cornstarch
*Mix above ingredients
1 small diced onion
1 to 1 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
4-6 red chilies – optional
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 Tbsp. sliced stick ginger
oil
In pan or wok on medium high heat add 2-3 tbsp. oil.
Add onions and bell peppers. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
Add red chilies, minced garlic and ginger. Cook and stir one minute.
Add sauce and toss for 15-30 seconds until thick.
Add cooked fish pieces and toss until coated.
Serve immediately. Enjoy.
