

It was my great uncles, we dug it out of the garage. He bought at a garage sale a long long time ago. Not sure how old it is. It’s uneven and a bit wobbly, sorry about the weird counter stuff it’s rice from grinding.

Yep and need to smash rice, several time until the rice look like a powder, that process calls curar, it’s to avoid the porosity inside
Im not sure if that its volcanic stone, it seems but normally the real molcajete have smother surface and its heavy
How could it be un-authentic? It is a molcajete. Do you think there is a molcajete association that has strict rules regarding size, weight, number of legs, grinding stone to bowl ratio?
