Elote in a takeout container is called Esquites in central Mexico, they have other names in other regions tho, like “elote en vaso”

Esquites! Looks so good. I’d devour that.

Styrofoam is a sin no matter what

I always bring my own plate. I dump it all out on the plate, it’s easier to mix

The corn doesnt look grilled?

Esquites, elote? The real problem is the corn.

Esquites in here in Mexico City are made with white corn which tastes less sweet than the yellow corn. I’ve never tried esquites of yellow corn, I feel they would taste sweet instead of salty.

That looks amazing!

I can definitely get behind this one. You’d get a more uniform blend, and you’re not left scooping all the liquid at the bottom with a tiny spoon like a jackass.

If it’s not on the cob I don’t want it

I’m only concerned about the X of suspicion salsa on top of it.
In the part of Mexico where I live, the spicy comes from powdered chili exclusively.

That thing has a greater capacity than the glass, the glass is to not put so much product

This is better! In Mexico I get it on styrofoam tray vs cup if they have that size, because I can mix everything together easier and spills less.
Looks so good!

Does this sub has real mexicans? This is not true it depends on how much you want

Every time I buy esquites, specially the bigger ones, I like yo move them from the cup to a a bowl to get them mixed easier and eat them more comfortably

It’s called “esquites” that way. Regarding to the container, in many places don’t call it esquites, they call it “elote in vaso” (elote in a cup), but then some guys in Aguascalientes served it this way, and as it sounded stupid since it’s not a cup, they decided to call it “chaskas”… but just name it the way it’s offered, no need to start a fight over the name

That would be esquites. Elote is on the cob, esquites is cut off the cob and served in a cup (normally).
Yum!
It’s not. Easier to mix and less mess 🙂
That yellow sweet corn though…
The container it’s totally fine, the real crime here is the yellow corn.
Not a sin. Actually, the takeout plate is better if you plan to eat corn with chips
Lo que está raro ese ese maíz amarillo en lugar de uno blanco o azul.
Le falta crema
No, that’s how they’re usually served from an elotero
Looks delicious, can you post the recipe please?
Thats the wrong type of corn
More surface area upon which to slather toppings 👏🏽
Container is fine, the corn? Eeeeeh
That’s not elote
Looks like Valentina on top after it’s oxidized a bit. I hope I’m right cause that’s my favorite salsita
I’d eat it. Here’s the one I’m most proud of. Granted this is combining TX BBQ and elotes.

They must taste different in a container.
