Usually our friends buy the lard based masa from Cardenas, add more lard and mix until the masa floats in water.
I found this oil prepared masa for tamales. Would I do the same by adding oil and mixing or can it be used straight out of the bag. With friends, my job has always been Masa Spreader so I’ve never mixed the masa.

I didn’t even know a product like this exists! They have never sold anything like this in Western Montana, and I’ve burned out 2 mixers making my own tamale masa. 🤦♀️
