Did I accidentally cross a ghost pepper and reaper?

I noticed that one of my reapers is exceptionally smoother than any of the other reapers growing or picked. It’s skin is looking suspiciously similar to my ghost peppers. What do you guys think? Was this just a very unique reaper, or did some cross pollination occur? (First slide is the reaper in question, second slide is a different reaper on the same plant, third is a different reaper plant, and the last two are ghost peppers.)

If I’ve understood your post correctly, then no. The way cross pollination works is: pollen from plant A pollinates a flower on plant B. The flower on plant B now becomes a fruit. This fruit is the same as all other fruits on plant B, however, the seeds of this particular fruit will bear the traits of both A and B.

No …my hots are a freak show all kinds of cool mutations, some of the scorpions look like ghosts and some reapers have bumps like 7 pot… mad science 🤣
