It’s clickbaity. Many places have laws against not accepting cash, and other chains (like sweetgreen) have reverse their stick cashless policies; I can see them amplifying their carrot cashless polices, though (like making more app deals like app only prices, boxes, etc). This is more taco bell discriminating against the tech-illiterate (as opposed to the unbanked), as you can buy and use a taco bell gift card online/in app with cash, but non app users generally pay higher prices even now
