Peppers

First timer here, help needed

First time pepper grower I know I overcrowded the bed but again I’m a rookie. My cayenne and banana peppers have done very well all year however, my Tabasco’s will not turn. The plants are huge and full of peppers but I’ve gotten maybe 12 peppers all year. Any advice? Should I just be patient?? Located in Moore County, NC.

Sounds like not enough phosphate. When flowers start appearing I switch to a 2-8-4 fertilizer. Nitrogen is great for foliage, but not for fruits.

  2. Just be patient. Took a while for mine to turn this year.

I only fertilized one time early with like a 28-7-14.

Every year I grow Tabascos (NY), they are always late and seems like it takes forever. I even start from seed in a greenhouse in February. Have patience-it’s not you, it’s the pepper.

Certainly doesn’t look like you need any help at all. All you can do is wait. Great job!
