Any thoughts on what’s wrong with my fish pepper. Was growing well in the middle of the season despite the heat (zone 9b). Well, it was getting large and leafy, but hasn’t produced any fruits. Since then, has dropped all these leaves and is looking quite sad.

Try switching fertilizers or fertilize it if you haven’t. Manure/mustard and onion peel/banana peel teas will all give it a little nitrogen and lots of potassium and magnesium to perk it up and help it fruit.
When I grew fish pepper during this summer I noticed the variegated white parts would die off easily from the heat or too much sun, when I had them in a shadier spot the white sections did better.
When equinox hits switch to phosphorous and potassium based nutrition. Then water with compost teas..
