What are these sugary, liquid filled candies?

I love this obscure candy I found in Mexico. They have a crispy sugary shell and are filled with liquid. When I first had it they tasted like liquor inside but this time it’s just sweet. Does it have a name? How is it made?

I call them borrachitos, not sure how they’re made though

Yo las conozco como lagrimitas “little tears”

Those are lagrimitas. They’re made by slowly dropping syrup into a cornmeal mold. The sugar on the outside crystallises, leaving the syrup inside as a liquid.

I love lagrimitas! The syrup is traditionally anise-flavored and you would usually find them in the smaller independent drugstores.

I have never seen this in Mexico, I want to try them! I bet my kids would love them.
