I am trying out a two 5 gallon bucket water system and see my peppers aren't dying but they also aren't growing completely. The red bud forms and then they just stop. I trimmed the plant back a little to see if maybe it's using too much energy.

Btw the white powder is a little diatomaceous earth.
What variety of pepper is this? It looks similar to a birds eye pepper which is pretty darn small peppers.
Roots probably dead from being too wet, trimming it back did nothing but stunt it. Take it out of the bucket so the roots can get oxygen in an airpot or fabric pot raised off the ground
Dig it up and clean the roots off , put it in new dry soil. After like a day or so water it lightly again and keep doing that for a while and it should come back.
I know! It’s called SPRING! Either let nature do it’s course and harvest the small peppers until it grows more large peppers or cut the flowers before they turn into small peppers so the plant focus on growing more instead of fruiting too soon.
Is this a store bought plant?
