Picked this up at a local Asian grocery. Had never seen before so was intrigued to try it. As everyone is looking for Huy Fong alternatives/replacements, thought I'd compare the two.
Saigon Gourmet
Hotter, more red pepper flavor with a bitter metallic note, and more garlic
Huy Fong/Rooster
Brighter, more vinegary flavor, more sweet, more tomatoey flavor, but less complex
Overall, Saigon is good and I like a bit more but not revolutionarily better
