As a hot sauce fan growing up in Canada we didn’t have the same selection. But two common sauces I’d see at stores and growing up were franks and the original lousiana hot sauce. The yellow label on the glass bottle. So how does this one compare to that Louisiana hot sauce?

Ahhh, I wish I could find it locally (some of us in Massachusetts do, in fact, like it hot).
I used to like Louisiana Hot Sauce best (of the Louisiana-style sauces), to the point of eating the occasional spoonful, but the last two bottles I bought seemed off, almost spoiled. Texas Pete is ruined by benzoate of soda aka sodium benzoate…apparently some of us have a genetic quirk that makes that preservative taste awful. Tabasco brings the heat, but too much vinegar. Frank’s is delish, but I’d like it hotter; reviews of Frank’s Xtra Hot make it sound like there isn’t much difference, but I may pick some up next grocery trip so I can decide for myself.
