This is a sauce made local to me. In fact I believe someone from the company just dropped my order off on my doorstep instead of bothering with shipping since it arrived the Monday immediately after I placed an order on Saturday.
The text on it says this was the 7th recipe for a Ghost Pepper sauce they tested and the one that they felt held the magic.
I have to agree, it’s a very balanced sauce. There’s great Ghost Pepper flavor here, and the heat level is a solid medium+. It has enough punch that chile heads won’t be bored but not so much heat that regular folks will have their heads blown off.
The texture is thin and smooth, and with a bit of vinegar forwardness combined with what tastes like possibly a bit of fermentation this actually has some vibes of what a Tabasco Ghost Pepper sauce might taste like, though it’s not at vinegary as regular Tabasco.
I like the idea of supporting local craft businesses and I’m looking forward to trying their other sauces. They do sell online at bellspeppers.com for anyone else wanting to try.
