
What is going on with the massive over-estimation of scoville ratings on hot sauces? Not only on YouTube shows, but basically on every sauce that mentions scoville.
There’s just no way that a sauce would have that kind of scoville rating. It would have to be nearly 17% capsaicin to get those kinda numbers. There would be not much room for other ingredients, or water or pepper mass.
I’ve tried most of the last dab sauces and I think if you actually tested them they would all come in under 100k SHU
What do you think? Can scoville ratings on sauces ever be trusted?
