I just had my first experience at a hot sauce fest, and let me tell you, I'm absolutely hooked! The day was packed with spicy fun, starting with the jalapeño eating contest, followed by a hot pepper eating challenge that had my eyes watering just from watching. There was even a magic show and a cornhole hole court to help keep things lively!
The food trucks were out in full force, and I have to give a big shoutout to Palms to Pine Empanadas for serving up a delicious lunch that my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. We made it our mission to visit every booth and pick up our favorite sauces, and we only missed 2-3. My goal was to get a variety of flavors, heat levels, and unique creations, and I’m thrilled with my haul.
A huge thank you to all the vendors, staff, volunteers, and everyone who made this event so memorable. We're looking forward to many laughs and great times at the dinner table and grill, sharing these sauces with friends and family. Here’s what I picked up:
- Big Dog Sauce Co: Cranberry Spice / Smokehouse Seasoning (dry)
- Craic Sauce: Sungold Sauce (non-spicy tomato sauce)
- Jersey Barnfire: Ramped Up / Indian Summer / Strawberry Scorpion / Black Garlic Bacon
- Smokin' Tin Roof: Green Monstah / Grow a Pear
- Dragon's Blood Elixir: Lemongrass Plum / For Whom the Bell / Zucchini Herb
- SD Sauce: Ginger Vegan / Original / BBQ
- Naked: Cider Apple Thai Chili / The One
- Whitehouse Station: Applewood Smoked Poblano / Strawberry Yuzu Vinaigrette
- 516: Top Secret Truffle
- Monty's: Batch No. 1
- High River: Rogue
- Burke's: Verde Serrano
- Bali Marle: Black Sambal
- Defcon Sauce: Bonum Allium (dry)
- Volcanic Ash: Blonde
