I’m a lover of Serrano peppers, so when I saw that Ferm Foundations had a lineup of Serrano sauces I knew I had to try.
I’m also a lover of mustard, and find it plays a part in many of my favorite sauces, so when my box arrived this is the one I was most eager to try first.
It’s an extremely mustard-forward sauce. Even though the mustard seeds are towards the back end of the ingredients list, they do dominate the flavor profile. If you don’t like mustard you won’t care for this, if you do, you’ll be in heaven.
The nice grassy Serrano flavor is there along with some complexity from the fermentation and a nice vinegar bite. It’s a delicious sauce and I’ve really enjoyed using it anywhere I’d use mustard, like on hot dogs and mixed into some queso dip.
I recently got my first air fryer so I’ve made a couple batches of wings and I’m looking forward to seeing how this does as a wing sauce.
Great tasting sauce overall, definitely recommend it if you’re a mustard fan.
