It has nice subtle heat from the Calabrian chilis but nice body from the mushroom. I thought about copying this sauce with Hungarian wax peppers but nope, too good.
This is a solid hot sauce but I wouldn’t give it more than a 7.5/10

I live in Italy and never seen it. I’m about a few hours north of where it’s from. So… If I see it I’d try it. The hot pepper culture here is like a subculture, and it’s definitely there even though most of them hate spicy. Spicy to them is lots and lots of salt. It’s crazy.

Little late to the party, but is this any good with pasta sauces? I really need a sauce that works for basic things like spaghetti, as I can’t cook peppers or anything into the sauce to spice it up because of family preferences.

It’s my favorite sauce to use for pasta dishes – goes nicely with a good red sauce. Allows me to have some zing without making a full on arrabiata which my wife wouldn’t like.
Depending on the pizza, I’d usually go for hot honey, but this great, too.
