I am having great delight in growing my twin Habanero plants, they are about 40cm long by now and will hopefully flourish in a few weeks.
However, due to being out of town for a few weeks (I entrusted my flatmate with keeping an eye on them), I have kinda lost the overview of how much water they should be given by now. Lately the weather has been very much unstable (scorching sun one day and pours on the following) which in turn also prevented me from sheltering them in case of very strong sunlight.
So here it is. The lower part of both plants is looking blackish and some leaves have dried up parts on their surface. I have looked all over for aphids and other parasites but I haven’t seen any in quite a few days by now, with a naked eye at least.
Can anyone give me some expert feedback? I’d be really bummed to lose them.
Last time I watered them was three days ago – filled a container with water and immerged both pots by roughly 50% of the soil for approx. one hour. This morning I sprinkled a bit of water on the surface of the soil as it was very very dry.
