Is it dessert… or dinner?! 🍌🌶️
For National Chili Day, I created the ultimate sweet-and-savory mashup — Banana Split Chili! This over-the-top chili recipe is inspired by the classic ice cream parlor banana split but made with bold, hearty chili flavors.
If you love unusual recipes, vintage-inspired cooking, and creative comfort food twists, this one’s for you. Would you try it?!
Let me know in the comments — team chili or team banana split? 👇
For this recipe you need:
1lb beef
1 can chili beans
1 can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup grape jelly
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp clove
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 bananas
Sour cream
Chocolate syrup
Cherry on top

Interesting….did a pregnant woman come up with this recipe?
Seriously though, what did it actually taste like? Is it like barbecue sauce where the total is greater than the sum of it's parts? This has got to be an old stoner recipe 😂? But maybe replace the ketchup with sugar free cherry pie filling and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar? A different meat or more beans?
Sounds disgusting but sometimes the strangeness works
Thelma, Iola and Naomi will have something to say about this…
Well, BLOW ME DOWN! 😮 This one sure sounds like a backwoods treasure🍲
Have a good one, Jim🩷
