These were grown from seed over the last couple of months in a pretty chilly room under some cheap Amazon lights and a plastic drop cloth to retain humidity. My wife is doing all of the actual work on these (yay!) and trimmed a few inches off of most of them last night since they are shooting straight up.
We're fairly inexperienced growing peppers, so I'm hopeful it wasn't too late to top them. They won't go outside for a few weeks at least in case of late frost.
