How would you prune this Chiltepin to set it up well for the season ahead? Would you keep the larger branches that are low (just above the soil level)?
Why prune and set back it’s production? The more existing growth the better. Me peraonally I’d just pot it up to 15+ gal and watch it take off.

I would snip 2-3 inches off the longest branches and only like 1 inch off the smaller ones to try to round it out like a bush. Looks pretty happy as-is though, so it would mostly be for aesthetics…
