I have been growing plants in this room/same setup for a couple years and never had this happen before! I thought maybe it was a mouse so I put out a trap with peanut butter, it’s been a couple days, and no sign of a mouse.
Has anyone had this happened? I started a flat to try to make up for the damages… would any of these have a chance of coming back?
Last picture is to show that my broccoli, kale, tomatoes in the same room and soil have not had this issue.

I have a few that are just starting to sprout, so I’d like to try to prevent it if I can!
It’s some kind of animal for sure. It might look green/alive for quite some time, but it won’t survive, sorry.
Birds…
Possibly mice or rats.
They snatched several of my spinach seedlings the same day they sprouted. Last year it was my tomatillos.
