➡️ Recipe: Soy sauce chicken and noodles

Serves 4

Ingredients:
1 lb thin spaghetti (angel hair or spaghetti works)
2lbs chicken thighs, skin on, boneless (~4 pieces)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp ground black pepper

2 tbsp butter
6 cloves garlic, minced
3-4 green onions, thinly sliced
Salt, for boiling water

Sauce:
2 tbsp shaoxing wine, or chicken broth
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy
1/2 tbsp honey
1 tsp chicken bouillon

In a large bowl, combine the chicken with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly and let it marinate.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok or large pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken thighs and cover with a lid to let them steam as they cook. After 6–7 minutes, remove the lid, flip the chicken, and cook for another 6–7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente.

Uncover the chicken and let the sauce reduce, then increase the heat to sear the chicken for about 1 minute per side. Remove the chicken from the pan.

Using the same pan with the remaining oil, sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Add the sauce along with the cooked pasta and toss to combine. Add a knob of butter and toss again until well coated. Finish with sliced green onions and give it one final toss.
To serve, slice the chicken into strips and pair it with the soy sauce noodles. Enjoy!

  5. This is great. Instead of telling folks to buy a special type of noodle, rock sugar, etc. you pull out regular spaghetti that we all have and honey. 👍🏽 And then for some of the other specialty ingredients, you give other alternatives, except oyster sauce and sesame sauce. Nice presentation. Good, affordable dish.

  6. Miss Stephynie I will suggest to charcoal the pasta a bit,it will create a better flavor, that's how we make certain pasta dish in Rome. I will try your recipe. Thank you.

  7. I just made this tonight. Girl my whole family loved it. I served it with option of adding chili oil and it was good before the spice but that kicked it up a notch.

The only thing this recipe is missing is a good crunch… Hubby and I came up with roasted peanuts as a yummy crunch companion. ❤❤❤
