I look for tomatoes being the first ingredient, not puree. I opened a jar of Newman's organic tomato and basil-it was pureed. It must have been on sale. It was extremely bland; i had to spruce it up. I'll make my own sauce before I spend 7-10 dollars on Rao's.
40 seconds in and it’s ridiculous. Says it’s like pizza sauce it’s been cooked a long time. Pizza sauce is not cooked
The vibe I’m getting is they all don’t pass well enough 😂
I wish they would have done Aldi's marinara.
Herbs ffs…Herbs, hERBS!!! It has a "H" in it, you might as well use it 🤪
My go to pasta sauce is actually a blend. For every pound of pasta, a jar of Prego and a jar of Mild Pace Picante Sauce get mixed together. Everybody that has ever tried it, loves it. And yes, I do add meat to the mix.
They destroyed RAO's in the name of cost cutting.
They are all garbage ,make it homemade ,Passata , olive oil ,basil ,garlic and cheese ,done , 10 min
Jar sauce is NOT italian
Make your own. Not hard at all.
As usual, Walmart slays whole foods😂
I feel so validated in buying Carbone now lol
How can they not do Hunts?
Without watching the video my go to is Ragu meat flavored. Most of the time my doctor it up, but that'll be my base of choice. Then RAOs but I think recently, when I tried it, it doesn't taste the same as I remember…..now lets see what they chosen.
Update after watching. Havent tried many of them but I do agree with classico and prego. I tried them once and never bought them again.
You didn't get Mezzetta.
Again?
The winner was clearly Walmart's ! For less than 2 bucks? oof
BEGGING to see some Aldi brands represented in these videos.
Martone Street?
I wish they tested Aldi sauces
This test is rigged.
Carbone is my favorite. totally worth it.
Now do Alfredo sauce.
I really like Newman's
Ragu’s Simple with some fish sauce and basalmic vinegar will result in world class ‘homeade’ for $2.
Mazzette spicy
Marinara is the best ever ! Add garlic , salt ! Top w fresh basil over ravioli / mozzarella ❤
Prego mushroom is my favorite then I doctor it up then add mushrooms toward the end. Letting it cook a long time helps also. Crock pot it for hours with meat sauce and Italian sausage 😋
My favorite is Raos sensitive marinara. Very tomato forward with limited seasoning
Does any of this really matter?
Whenever I make sauce and I decide to start with a chart sauce I will ALWAYS end up adding my own spices and veggies and stuff to the sauce.
I have grabbed every brand available randomly off the show before and made a sauce with it and they have all turned out amazing.
Though I am not surprised that people just straight up dump the yard sauce over noodles and don't figuratively and literally spice it up by adding stuff to it.
After all, anytime I have ever gone out to eat and gotten a pasta dish with a red sauce of any kind it has been horrifically bland and overly acidic
7:33 The food scientist in charge of this product must be so pleased. Likewise the business level person who hired them, wow
No Carfagna's?
y'all please taste test frozen taquitos, I need the scientifically optimal taquitos asap! 🙂
Sorry, I want my spaghetti drained very very well ( no spaghetti water)
Thank you all
Sad they didn’t review Botticelli or Mezzetta
I used to like Mutti a lot even though it kind of tasted a little bit artificial, despite it being Italian and I'm Italian like the garlic was overpowering. However, what ended up happening is for some reason, it started to taste like Tostitos salsa and because I started making that connection I didn't want to eat it as much
one big waste of tomatoes. they all suck and raos is the worst
long story short: they liked Carbone, Great Value, Ragú, Mutti, Cravings.
however, i think they should go back to trying Ragú again now that they’ve tried everything else lol
@7:33 fun fact, Rao’s got bought by Campbell’s 😢
If she prefers great value over Classico, her tongue is broken
Carbone has changed my life. I will never buy anything else
Watched the video and my consensus is that there are so many bad sauces because taste testers in the sauce industry are so inconsistent.
Repulsive that you included Chrissy Tiegen.
What's with the herps on that guy's face?
Now I'm having spaghetti for dinner 😂❤
Was disappointed mazzeta was not included
This is the second video I've seen where a great value brand did arguably better pound for pound than the others, the last was their olive oil when babish talked about it, I need to know if the Boyardee family has a stake in Walmart lol
Classico sauce is the best…my favorite is sausage. And it’s not expensive.
I think Spaghetti sauce is very personal. If my husband saw chunks of tomato in his spaghetti sauce, he would not eat it. It must be baby food style.
