Too big for the basement and it's time to move outside in SE Michigan zone 6A. This year I'm giving hardening off a better try. A stumbling block has always been the tippy tall pots I use to save space in the basement. Also I have 102 plants so moving them around constantly is not feasible. My deck gets the morning sun and it gets hot so I need to shade in one tight and protected area. I got the idea to put 6 pots in a 7 gallon bag until I'm ready to plant. It would hold 7 pots tightly but they need a little extra room. Not having enough bags I'm using the deck's bench tipped on its side to hold in the rest of the larger plants. Next week there are some nights going to be in the upper 30's but I feel safe up against the bricks for warmth. That position keeps them safe from the wind also. They are under an overhang so I need to keep them watered which is not the easiest the way I got them if I water each individual pot. The cages are for the squirrels that dig into everything. Can't wait for a few weeks to past and I'll be planting in the ground!
