Went to a Mexican restaurant (El Sol) and asked for the usual red/green taco sauces with my street tacos, but instead they gave us this small bowl of yellowish green sauce(pic attached). Easily among the best salsa I’ve ever had. Ignore the normal salsa on the left.
Details I can provide:
– Cold, tasted super fresh
– Yellow-green base with red/green speckles
– wasn't creamy, more loose/watery
– Spicy in a really good way with building heat
– Kind of reminded me of homemade jalapeno salsa
Does anyone know what this is called or what might be in it?
Also if you’ve had something similar, what peppers do you think they used? Serrano? Chile de árbol?
