About to Chuck my Habanero and Tabasco

Both became totally infested with aphids and have yet to produce any sign of fruit. I think I might chuck both and focus on my jalapeño, tomato, and herbs.

I don’t have a hose and limited sun on my balcony, so by quarantining those two plants I doubt they get the sun they need anyways and the aphid infestation has kinda sucked the fun out of them for me.

Aphids are so easy to get rid of… Organic Insecticidal soap like Dr. Bronners will have them gone in a single application. You dont need to hose it off.

I wouldn’t throw them away. Do you have a sprayer on your kitchen sink or a movable shower head?

Dude, get some lady bugs from the hardware or gardening store. Problem solved. Release at sundown near the stalk so they can crawl up. They might chill the first night, but put in work the next day.

Spray in the shower. It’s what I do if I fuck up on de-aphiding an indoor overwintering pepper and they get aphids. Works as well.

Drop of Neem Oil, Drop of Washing Up Liquid, Warm Water in a Spray Bottle – Mix well.

    Done.

Before you throw them away, strip all the leaves off and throw away the leaves. Aphids hide mostly under the leaves. Put them in the shade and spray them with insecticide . Its easier to kill the aphids when theres no leaves. Peppers grow back quickly and can give you a harvest before winter. They slow down in the hot summer anyways.

Nah those guys are beautiful. Spray under the leaves with pressured water and get some lady bugs. also dish soap and water mix kills them too.
