Walt Disney's FAVORITE CHILI RECIPE! | OFFICIAL

We made Walt Disney’s FAVORITE homemade chili recipe! This is an official Disney family recipe from 1958 which was shared by the Walt Disney Archives! They shared a hand typed recipe which was found in a file titled “Walt’s Favorite Foods”. It was so cool to make Walt Disney’s favorite food, homemade chili!! This chili recipe is very mild, as Walt didn’t like things too spicy. Kids will love it for that reason! With that said, just add the recommended spices if you prefer your chili with more of a kick!

This chili recipe will fit perfectly in a 6 quart (5.7 liter pot). 🙂

This is the exact chili recipe (typed word for word) that was Walt Disney’s favorite, per the Walt Disney Archives!

Ingredients:

2 lbs. coarse ground beef
2 onions, sliced
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup oil
1 cup chopped celery
1 tsp. chili powder (depending on taste)
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 large can solid pack tomatoes
salt
2 lbs. dry pink beans

For spicy Chili and Beans add a pinch of the following spices:-

coriander seeds
turmeric
chili seeds
cumin seeds
fennel seeds
cloves
cinnamon
dry ginger
and 1 little yellow Mexican chili pepper

Directions:

Soak beans overnight in cold water.
Drain, add water to cover (2 inches over beans), and simmer with onions until tender (about 4 hours). Meanwhile prepare sauce by browning meat and minced garlic in oil. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. When beans are tender, add sauce to beans and simmer for 1/2 hour. Serves 6 to 8 people.
