COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – It’s all hands on deck at the bars and restaurants in downtown Colorado Springs, as the Denver Broncos take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
People are passionate about their Broncos and that’s good news for businesses.
At The Sportsbook Bar and Grill, manager Jared Sieben said staff stocked food and drunks to prepare for the busy night.
During the game, some lucky bar goers could win a Broncos jersey.
The bar manager said even when the Broncos aren’t playing it’s a full bar, so he is excited to see what a night looks like when Broncos Country shows up.
“We are hoping the Broncos do really well this year,” Sieben continued. “We are going to be supporting them this whole season and hopefully we can keep going and be here for a long time.”
It’s a similar story for bar and restaurant Trainwreck, in downtown Colorado Springs.
General manager Mackenzie Parsons, said she expects the business to hit capacity both inside and outside, which is about 800 people total and a big chunk of money.
“You can tell the difference between the ones where we play and where we don’t,” Parsons said. “So, I’m expecting to kind of see that bounce over to today, but you can definitely tell when the Broncos fans are at home and when they come out for games.”
Trainwreck also just started a new style of dining that parsons said will create less of a wait time, allowing for more watch time.
Parsons said the energy Broncos fans bring to the bar on game night in unmatched.
