Chilli bread- A simple, quick and yummy snack made with bread and onion tomato masala.
With just a few bread slices and some easily available ingredients from your kitchen, and in no time you can prepare this tasty chilli bread.
Ingredients
Bread slices -4
Ghee – 2 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp
Onions 2 finely chopped
Tomato 1 finely chopped
Capsicum 1/2 finely chopped
Green chillies 3
Red chillies 4
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Garam masala 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves and coriander leaves few
Salt as required
How to prepare
Heat ghee and add the chopped bread cubes and fry till it turn golden. Remove to a plate and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Throw mustard and cumin seeds.
Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
Add green chillies, red chillies and curry leaves.
Add onions and fry till light golden.
Add turmeric powder, garam masala, red chilli powder and required salt.
Add tomatoes and capsicum.
Give it a stir and cook for 5 mins.
Now add the toasted bread cubes into it.
Stir gently so that the masala mixes up well with the bread, and at the same time take care not to stir vigorously as it will tear the bread pieces.
Cook for a minute on medium flame as you saute. After the bread pieces gets mixed up well with the masala, switch off the flame.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Spicy Chilli Bread is now ready!! Serve as snack or even breakfast!!
