Best Onions For Homemade Chili Sauce Recipe (3 Ways): Sambal Belado, Salsa Verde and Picante

Onion is a common ingredient used in everyday cooking.
However, with the various types of onion available in the market, how do we know which ones to use in our dish?

In this video, we will use 3 types of onions (namely shallots, yellow onions, and red onions) for 3 different homemade chili sauce recipes.

For Recipe 1: Sambal Balado Chili Sauce
150g Chili Padi
100g Shallots
1 stalk Lemon Grass
20g Galangal
35g Garlic
1 Tomato
1 tablespoon Tamarind Paste
1 Green Lime
3 teaspoons Salt
50g Brown Sugar
1 tablespoon Cooking Oil

For Recipe 2: Salsa Verde Chili Sauce
30g Green Chili
500g Green Tomatoes
20g Cilantro
10 cloves Garlic
150g Yellow Onions
1 Green Lime
4 teaspoons Salt
2 teaspoon Sugar

For Recipe 3: Picante Chili Sauce
100g Chili Peppers
250g Red Onions
1 can Tomato Puree
6 tablespoons Vinegar
4 teaspoons Salt
1 tablespoon Dried Onion Flakes
1/3 cup Water
