To be honest, I’m pretty confused between the difference between salsa and pasta sauce these days. My take is that if you believe it’s salsa, then it’s salsa.

In my opinion, any sauce that has tomatoes or tomatillos and is vaguely Mexican is salsa, doesn’t matter how it’s consumed.

Doesn’t bruschetta have basil and/or oregano and doesn’t have lime? I’d say that would be the main difference but I’ve honestly never made bruschetta so I’m not too sure.

Bruschetta is actually the grilled bread that is drizzled or brushed with olive oil.
The toppings vary that can be placed on top. But the tomato topping that is pretty common is basically the same as a salsa. Different flavor profile though.
