Some Arbol Salsa I’ve been toying with since finding a recipe here a few weeks ago!

    Chile De Arbol Salsa

    5 romas- quartered

    1 small-medium yellow onion

    1 clove garlic – peeled

    21 dried Chile Arbol

    1tsp – Cumin

    1.5tsp – Concentrated Chicken Stock

    1tsp – Salt

    1/3c water

    Splash of liquid smoke

Soak Chiles in Warm Water until the final 3-5 minutes of the softening step below. Save the water to dilute to consistency.

Soften all fresh ingredients in pan with oil 15 mins. Add chiles at the end and brown for 3-5 mins. Season with cumin while in pan.

Blend with salt and concentrated stock, reserved Arbol water to desired consistency.

Ha! Just seeing that color looks hot as hell

  3. My sister in law makes one like this. She cuts the tomatoes in half and fries them until they blister them in the oil. It really adds a huge dimension to the flavor.
