    Recipe:

    – 6 Pasilla peppers: I took the seeds out

    – 1 full head of garlic

    – 1/4 stick cinnamon

    – 1/4 of a red onion

    – 2tbsps canola oil

    – 4 ounces tequila

    – water (to blend)

I heated up the oil, once hot I added the pasilla peppers, onion, garlic and cinnamon.

I cook until very fragrant, must have been like 3-4 minutes.

I added the tequila, and let it evaporate until there was maybe around half the liquid.

I blended with some splashes of water to achieve the consistency I wanted, added salt and pepper.

Note: it was very yummy on tacos, I’m saving the rest and trying it tomorrow with chips.

Note #2: is this considered salsa?

What kind of flavoring does the tequila add

    To answer the OPs’ question…

That is without a doubt, salsa, according to the norms and protocols of r/SalsaSnobs

I wonder how this would be with mezcal instead of tequila, if the smokiness would come through?

Just here to say those tacos look delicious and I bet the salsa (yes, it’s salsa) went great with it. Love the use of cinnamon as well.
