Did they actually have shredded beef to begin with? Some franchise don’t get all the same things.
I haven’t even been able to order it past the first day. Both Taco Bells nearby have made it completely impossible to even try checking out if I’ve added the Dipping taco to my order. They don’t even say “an item is unavailable” it straight up says “This store has no ordering times available” until I remove it from my cart and restart the whole app.
I think these were really popular and they’re running out of supplies. I personally love them. I ordered one through DoorDash the other day and it came in a regular hard shell taco.

Taco Bells around here ran out of the shells 2 weeks ago, and started replacing them with regular ones. So I knew the shredded beef was next. They underestimated the popularity I guess, but the whole thing should be pulled by now.

It seems to me stores run out of things A lot more than they used to.

It’s kind of a contingency thing. They plan this with most LTOs where if they ran out of 1 ingredient but still have most of the others, they’ll run with an alternate version of the product.
That’s what they’re supposed to do. I just updated my store yesterday, and even though all the signs clearly say seasoned beef, my people have been cursed out A LOT this weekend.
TB employee here. What probably happened is they ran out of the shredded beef but still have a lot of the shells left over since they’re different from the normal shells, so they just decided to offer this instead of ordering more.
I’ve seen some locations offering both, but no reason to be getting the regular beef

Contrary to popular belief in these comments.. the price won’t go down because they no longer offer shredded beef.. news flash Taco Bell does these LTO’s to make money.. because they know people will buy a new product… they aren’t gonna lower the price when the limited time offer supplies deplete.. they sell it at regular price. So if they run out of the shredded beef they replace it with seasoned beef.. run out of shells.. replace with regular shells.. until all ingredients for the LTO’s are depleted. Price does not change. It’s how they make money off of their LTO’s.

When I was doing my LTOs for my store I accidently put the regular dipping tacos instead of the shredded. Could just be an innocent mistake.
