Harvest time folks! Qs. Does the heat make them even hotter? I pretty much only grow super hots. Should I be even more careful?

(Pic 3) Always rinse your peppers or you risk eating spider eggs clutches, unless youโ€™re into that extra legged protein ๐Ÿ˜‚

I tasted a scotch orange brains at the beginning of the season, went back this time and it had me do the spicy dance. I donโ€™t recall it being that hot, did they get hotter due to the heat wave? Iโ€™m in the middle of the heat wave 6b.

I usually pick the early ones too early because Iโ€™m impatient but I find the same. Hotter near the end of the season. I have heard that hot weather makes them hotter but not sure what the mechanism is. Stress is supposed to also but again, not aware of actual studies or anything. That is a beautiful harvest, btw. What are your plans for them and what are your favorites?

Any stress on the plant makes them hotter. Plus peppers just love heat

Question.. How do you plan to consume these?

No, I don’t think there’s any evidence showing that heat or stress would make them any hotter but they’ll be hot enough I’m sure!
