Okay What Should I Make With This?

I found this at the store today and want some recipe ideas. I’ve only ever had a huitlacoche taco before that was delicious, but this jar isn’t only huitlacoche. It also has onion, jalapeno corn, oil and spices in the jar and seems pretty liquid like some sort of salsa. What should i do with it? Is it a salsa?

Quesadillas will always be the number one choice.

I once had Huitlacoche Crepes at a gourmet Mexican restaurant, and they were amazing. I dont have a recipe though.

That seems to be a huitlacoche flavored “salsa macha” which is similar to Asian chili oil sauce.

So treat it like a sauce.

Best steak I ever had was served in huitlacoche and topped with feta in Coyoacan.

Why not a “not gonna appropriate cultures” with a side of “I will stop colonialism”? hehehe sorry I couldn’t help it. personally I love huitlacoche quesadillas, but there are like a million and a half recipes you can try if you can read basic spanish directions I’d suggest google “recetas con huitlacoche”.

  8. Search for “pastel azteca con huitlacoche”

Corn truffle hahahaha wow. FYI original name. Corn smut.
Go get some maseca from your local supermarket if possible. Make some masa. Not hard at all. Get some queso Oaxaca. Shred the chees by hand like string cheese. Make tortillas with the masa. Fry the the corn “Truffle” season lightly with some salt. Add cheese. Boom quesadilla. Need more detailed instructions hmu.

Two well established Mexican(altough little known outside Mexico) plates: Spaghetti with huitlacohe and huitlacoche crepes. I would recommend: don’t use a ready made huitlacoche sauce and look for recipes in the internet.

We make an omelette/frittata at home. With or without cheese (fresco, panela or seco) and crema on top (sour cream or lebneh would sub well.

No idea they had one this small. I bought the huge jar and could barely finish it all

I love Quesadillas with Hitlacoche, but I also like scrambled eggs with Hitlacoche and other mushrooms, maybe also a Sandwich with a little bit of a mild cheese and some tomato slices, you could also go with Sopes, Tacos, or as an ingredient for a simple soup using some vegetable stock and maybe also Zucchini and/or Nopales

  16. It’s salsa. Try a little bit, if you can stand it, grab some tortillinas and make a quesadilla. Of if too spicy 🔥 for you, just bring it to some real men.

You don’t make anything with it, you dance to it, it got married.
