Is there a way to push my plants into ripening what’s currently on them? I have a ton of peppers that took their sweet ass time to grow now I fear there won’t be enough time for them to ripen. I’m in zone 7b and the nights are getting colder. I’m showing Oct 30 as the first frost. They’re about 5’ tall btw

No way to speed it up that i know of, but you can pick them early and put them in a warm area inside they will ripen after you pick them. Also, what kinda pepper is that? Looks kinda like a scotch bonnet or something.
– fertilize with potassium and phosphate fertilizer, no nitrogen.
– trim carrying branches a few nodes after the last pepper
– cut off all non-carrying branches
– as soon as one fruit starts to ripen, pick it. It will continue to ripen off the plant, and the plant will speed up ripening of the remaining fruit.
Wait until the day before the first frost. Then either:
– take the plant inside for overwintering, or
– cut it off directly above the root and hang it upside down inside, where it’s not too warm(for example in your garage if you have one). The peppers will ripen on the cut-off plant.
