Less is more, and this is specially true for guacamole. If you want pico de gallo, keep it separate.
Try this one time, smash half a garlic clove with a pinch of salt, then roughly mix with 2 avocado, add a FEW DROPS of lime juice, mix gently and adjust for salt.

Well it depends
Personally guacamole is more avocado than veggies.
Next time try and have less
But hey it’s good .

Everyone’s version is different. Adjust it towards your own taste. I just tried a recipe that uses orange juice instead of lime. Not traditional but it was delicious. Experiment with different juices, chiles, or chips.

It’s *Guacamole*.
Seems that you missed using lime juice, that’s why your guacamole looks brownish (oxidated). NExt time add mexican lime (limón) juice and it will look green and fantastic.

Looks pretty good. I would tend to go more heavy on the avocado and add a lot of lime, both for the flavor and the acidity. Also, how did the chips hold up? I love Lays, but think they would have broken up in the scoop.

At least you tried

I know this is a “mexican food” community but as a mexican I can tell you that must mexicans dont follow the rules for cooking or eating, if you like it without lime or with chips then thats your version of it and thats fine.

I actually wouldn’t mind the tomato, but wtf is up with the potato chips
arhombus
You need lime, that’s a necessity. But as long as it tasted good, awesome.

Looks goods.
But to many things be called guacamole, that is more like a salsa with avocado on it. Still good!

Why criticize the chips? Of course, it’s best on my grandma’s home-made totopos from her tortillas, from the corn of her field, but guacamole goes on everything and Mexican food allows for flexibility. I don’t like garlic in my guacamole and try to use the least ingredients possible to keep the flavors authentic, but it’s a personal choice.
Keep it up OP, Mexican food is the best.

There’s a lot of douche bags here, pay them no mind. Looks great.
But seriously, less tomato next time. And lime.

Dawg, don’t listen to these “I’m Mexican” comments, if it’s good to you, it’s all good. Eat with whatever you want and use whatever ratio you want. Cheers!

Congratulations! Keep up the good work.
I think it’s fantastic that you are cooking for yourself at 13. Understanding tradition and playing around with recipes are both important themes in the kitchen, but they’re not mutually exclusive. Above all, the most important thing to remember is that if you like it, it’s good.
A bit of lime in there will help slow down the oxidization (browning) process.
Have fun!
