When I worked there you could spend $5 but we got the mess up food all the time for free
Also what’s a team lyder

When I worked there in the 90s it was no holds barred. It was against policy but we ate whatever we wanted.
Things I would regularly leave with.
* 10+ Meximelts
* Mexican pizzas that were several layers and were stuffed with steak and nacho cheese. Think more Mexican lasagna
* Burrito supremes with more girth than an elephants member
* Taco salads with like 10 scoops of grilled chicken
* Nacho bell grande made “phat”
* Three or four fajitas, EXTRA fajita sauce
Just-the-top
When I worked there, we got 1 free meal. I remember ordering a Crunchwrap & some soft tacos & my GM said “this is too much, I’ll do it this time but it’s too much” then after about a month I wouldn’t ring it up & just made my own stuff. Given, this was a corrupt TB. My managers and I used to smoke blunts in the bathroom on graveyard shifts

That one surprised me, I needed the job for a few reasons but being an intermittent fasting person and $10 a shift for food? Love it

Ooo I’m interested to here other people’s answers!
In my store, we get 10$ worth of food free Daily 🙂

I didn’t work there, but when a good friend of mine did.. the franchise where we lived offered half off one meal per shift, up to $15 before the discount, and they weren’t supposed to take the meal with them. It was meant to be eaten during your break. Also, they got unlimited soda.
It always seemed like a pretty shitty deal to me, considering across the street Subway was offering a free sub (any sub) every shift, 50% off all the time at any franchise owned location and unlimited drinks as well. I ate a lot of Subway for three years with that discount and the free sub.

My local TB often cuts off the free and discounted food for employees when the store doesn’t meet some corporate benchmark.
Jerkfaces.
Responsible_Figure12
We’re “allowed” $10 worth of food per shift but honestly we eat whatever we want.
manbamtan
Ik it’s different for different taco bells but I just make myself something. It could be something in the menu or just a random creation. But for if I ever get tired of TB, yes 100%. I used to love the 5 layer and power bowls but can’t really stand them now.
sarrocpry
At mine employees get $15/shift and managers get $20. Full menu access.
chyNoy0
We’re “supposed” spend up to $10 but no one really cares
TouristSea2791
When I worked there only graveyard shift ate for free and got to make their own food.
blackdylana
I work for Team Lyders. In our store, we get a $10 meal. You can choose anything, but if you go over $10, you pay the difference.
Marjorine22
We used to get $6 worth free daily. Which in the early 2000s was a lot.
However, if the food cost went in the trash the GM would make us pay half or even kill the discount altogether. You would be hard pressed to find a cheaper group of people than Taco Bell Corporate-owned restaurants.
Lazy_Complaint1122
At the first store i worked at in a seemingly small town. all food was free. we could have whatever we wanted whenever (even on off days) as long as it was rang up. at the store i work at now, we can only have an employee discount (%10) on $5 orders and it’s one meal a day 😔
mrnick127
Depends on the shift lead so.e will be like 5-10 andcso.e with be I don’t care just don’t take the kitchen home
DistanceTypical2495
My store gives you 10 dollars worth of any food from the store if you work any shift and 20 dollars if you work more than 10 hours in a shift
ThornLeaf138
Why is nobody discussing the chili cheese burrito?
No_Farm_8823
Corporate says $5/shift but we feed people on their days off 🤦♂️
lorissaurus
People are literally giving away so much food on purpose (stealing) that we get $5 instead of $15.
HulaMonkee
Do you guys like working there? Is it good for a part time second job?
Separate_Outcome_779
the store i worked at didn’t have a limit on what you could get, or how much. i used to leave from my shift with multiple combo meals worth of food.
the only real rule was that we had to make it ourselves of course.
i think the most i took was 2 taco party packs for my family
RareBiscotti-742
if you got a cool manager you eat for free and take whatever you want home. they arent supposed to let you but for the best chances go to a slow location
rat_on_fire
in my store if we make it ourself we can get whatever want no limit. if u were new u got $10 worth. i personally made my food of course and i would throughout the day lol and if my family wanted something id make it for them too 🤷♂️

Our bosses have cut free meals from our stores because their food waste is too high. They’ve promised the return of free meals if we get them down. Until then it’s 50% off up to six dollars, and if it’s 6.01 you don’t get to discount that meal.
But the fliers we hand out have this same free meals slogan on it. They should add an asterisk.
Waste-Mountain-1956
Ours say to try to keep it under $15
jayellkay84
My franchise gives 100% up to $10, excluding coffee and orange juice.
Typical_Equipment_96
For my location we can order anywhere 10$or less for an employee meal or to take home. And we can have free soda or freezes throughout the shift
AndyKuder418
Hell yeah, at my TB we get $10 worth of food per shift. Taco bell is horrible once you’ve had everything on the menu at least 5 times, however
forced_memes
at my tb i got three free food items, the sum of which had to be <$10. unlimited free drinks while on the clock. whenever i closed i got to take home all the leftover cinnabons and potatoes
wesleywalrus
In 2017, I we were able to get $4 of free food if you worked 4 hours or more. I almost always got 4 dollar menu items.
uwu-daddy
we’re supposed to only get $10 of food but all the managers have been pretty chill about that so we usually end up just having some small stuff like cinnamon twists or potatoes between orders and we don’t have to actually ring that in. and abt getting tired of the food, i don’t think i got “tired” of the food in general, my taste just changed. i don’t really eat the beef anymore just cause i’ve been here for almost 3 years now. i usually stick to fiesta potatoes or a chicken burrito that i customize. i’ve been really into the rolled chicken tacos these days though 🙂
zripcordz
When I was a manager at TB I got up to $5 per meal 100% free. I NEVER got tired of eating it lol. When you work there its always better because you KNOW it was made correctly and when your friends make it for ya they usually make it extra big/better.
