Habs got too much water over the last 2 days. Has been like this since yesterday. Should I just let it do it’s thing in the shade until it perks back up??

  1. Spray it with some liquid copper fungicide to reduce risks of it getting bacterial leaf spot, let it dry in semi shaded area for few days too

  2. did you cut some drain holes in the bottom of those buckets, i cut three 35mmx5mm horizontal strips about 50mm from the bottom of the bucket in my buckets to let the excess water drain out but the lower 50mm below the cut outs stays moist, helps the roots grow down.

The ground around it looks very dry. Are there no drainage holes in the buckets?

in contaniers i always go by weight if possible. if i can’t pick it up, then there’s enough of a medium that it’s hard to mess up the watering

    glad you got it sorted

It’s not so much the water that is the issue, but the soil. Are you using a wood / forest product based mix? If so, it’s rotting with too much water and preventing oxygen from getting to the roots. I always add at least 25% sand to all potting mixes, and avoid wood based mixes, which is most bagged potting soil.

They should be in the sun at all times

No matter what, you have a rooting problem. Probably all jammed up with wood in the soil. Next year use miracle grow soil and miracle grow potting mix mixed 50% each. Then throw in a few handfuls of sand or perlite. As long as you have drainage holes, that mix never fails for Habs/ super hots.
