Taco Bell

Thoughts on freezing beefy 5 layer burritos?

This is a killer deal. I have an air fryer and think these may be bomb reheated in the fryer? I feel like it’ll be similar to those frozen el Monterey burritos but much tastier. Thoughts?

  1. Prolly cheaper to make and freeze your own. And tastier !

  2. I personally would not but I don’t see why you can’t freeze them?

I bet they would freeze. Thaw in the fridge and grill them in a pan to reheat.

Tell us how it goes and then report back

My old college roommate used to do this

Wouldn’t hurt to try. My concern would be the tortillas turning gummy after reheating them.

The idea seems kinda meh because it’s taco
Bell meat but I’m sure it would work fine. Might lose a little flavor with freezing/reheating

i did it just froze it in the wrapper and put it directly in the microwave/oven. tastes perfect tbh

In my head they are still worth the 89c they had been. I look at $2 each being called a killer deal and just die inside a little.

Maybe start with one and see how it goes before committing to buying 12 at a time.

Sour cream on the side and it would for sure be a decent idea

My only concern would be the sour cream. I’ve microwaved burritos with it and the sour cream turned to a near sour milk flavor. Completely ruined it for me and I just eat them cold from the fridge now if I have leftovers. Taco bell slaps regardless of temp.

  13. Probably would be fine but you could just do some meal prep and have a better outcome

I’ve vacuum sealed the bean burrito to freeze and reheat and the result was pretty decent

I froze a stash of quesaritos before they left and they defrost pretty well! If I have time I heat them in the oven to get the outside crispy but tbh they’re fine in the microwave too

I don’t do this terribly often, but I still do this often enough. I put them in a freezer ziploc bag, then when it’s time to eat one I thaw it out in the fridge over night. Wrap in a damp paper towel, microwave at like 60 or 70% power for 1:00, sometimes I add an extra 30 seconds. When it’s hot, I grill it on a griddle or my cast iron skillet. Comes out tasting almost fresh, so this meal for four deal is probably going to be bought by me a couple times and I’ll just freeze the rest.

I usually will grab a couple when I grab lunch for later. I will microwave for like 50 seconds then throw them in a pan with vegetable oil to brown the edges. They come out just as good/better then when they were made.

$25 for a few burritos and some fries

I just got this yesterday, I ended up getting all of them to 5 layer burritos and edited them all to have no sour cream. When I got my order, they all had sour cream. So I spent nearly 30 bucks for 2 sides.

They won’t refund me since it was through the app. They offered to remake them all the next day. But I don’t want that.

  20. We did it last week and ate frozen ones last night. It’s awesome.

  21. I would wrap them in foil before you freeze them, and I’d strongly recommend using an air fryer or oven to heat em back up. Sour cream on side, or no sour cream and add your own at home. 🙂
