Taco Bell

Who is paying $12 for this?

I used to love TB but lately I just can’t come to terms with paying these ridiculous prices for quality that’s only becoming worse. I didn’t really care if the quality was bad before because it was cheap.

I can go grab carry out at a restaurant for these prices.

I paid $12 for this Chalupa meal with stale, unfriend shells filled with 80% lettuce.

On top of that TB changed the chalupa meal to chicken awhile ago so I’m forced to pay the higher chicken price even though I change it to beef.

This is my order as well I’ve been disappointed so many times. When it’s made right it’s amazing.

  2. MoldToPenicillin

Clearly plenty of people or else they would lower the price.

“unfriend shells” – I know this a typo or autocorrect fail but I feel like it fits anyway. It’s just not a chalupa without being fried and crispy.

If you’re buying a Chalupa and making it beef anyway, you should just get the Build Your Own Cravings Box. It isn’t two Chalupas, but you can get one Chalupa and a Beefy 5-Layer or taco or something, plus Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and a drink. For $5.99 instead of $12.

Obviously if they make it poorly, that’s still an issue, but definitely paying for the 2 Chicken Chalupa Supreme Combo when you’re not even eating the chicken is a huge expenditure.

Since Taco Bell charges extra to ‘upgrade’ to chicken and steak, it should also reduce the price to ‘downgrade’ to beef (or potatoes or beans of either type). Same thing for customizations. Why pay for ingredients we don’t order especially nowadays when many items and individual ingredients are so expensive? The ordering system could easily enable this.

This past year I’ve been receiving under-fried yet thankfully mostly still fresh Chalupa shells. There was a period of a few years when I received so many hard, stale shells also.

Yo I wouldn’t even eat that shit if it was free.. wtf is that lol

I hate chalupas because the shells are never fried properly, they’re a weird chewy texture, but I don’t mind eating them soft as part of the Cheesy Gordita Crunch.

You knew exactly what the price was before you bought it and yet you bought it anyways. People like you are the reason why TB gets away with raising prices because they know people like you will buy it.

Ask for a refund instead of posting it on Reddit

Well considering a build your own cravings box, which includes the chalupa as an option, is only $6.49 (in my market anyway) I don’t know why you wouldn’t go with that option over the highly overpriced chalupa meal itself, especially when you didn’t even want chicken…

I stop buying chalupas about 2 years ago when I first got my first stale and now I just recieve my first chicken quesadilla with only 3 pieces of chicken meat I payed somewhere around $5.58 for a CQ

TB is best avoided. All fast food is crap and is now way over priced. I avoid the crap and only have a couple times a year. Usually by choice of the people I’m with and not by mine.

  13. Brimmywimmy

Honestly that’s just unlucky levels of low quality

You can have 2 a la carte beef chalupas and a water cup for under $10 (or just over $10) without any apps. They’ve always been priced well in excess of their production cost, however

  15. Where the fuck are you at paying $12 for a by god chalupa that shits like $4 where I live lmfao

  16. Creepy_Isopod_9573

Idiots buying the chalupa meal instead of the cravings box.

  17. SalsaConQueeftador

We need to unite and stop paying these prices. They keep going up because we keep paying them.

  18. ConditionLife1710

I paid like 9.40 for 3 tacos supreme then other day. No drink. What the fuck has the world come to?

  19. THEJimmiChanga

Man the quality is absolute nutsack w/ bush. I’d rather eat cereal out of a 550lb womans asscrack after she got out of the gym for the first time in 5 years than pay Taco Bell’s outrageous prices for the 85% chance you’ll be served a slop mess.

They charge these crazy price increases, give us less food for more money, and don’t hold their employees accountable for reasonable standards in prepping food. The gall of this franchise charging Tijuana Flats/local mexican restaurant prices for this shit.

nah y’all are wack, he’s right to complain, i’ve worked at taco bell for 4 years as a manager, LET ME JUST SAY, they know they are fucking you over and they have meetings constantly to find more ways to drain your pockets. they know you’ll buy it because you’re expecting what we used to serve but they are getting cheaper product while hiring anyone and everyone that asks for a job. which in result the food is shit because the workers refuse to get off their ass and do it properly, and the menu prices get raised every 6 months if not less by $.05-1.20!, we are told to compensate less for bad orders and blame the customers. we are told the only thing we should worry about is food cost. in turn we have to skimp on ur food, tell you a product isn’t available, or the drive thru people will simple upcharge you on purpose because they don’t want to do the extra few buttons to swap it for free

  21. wake3600

You arent wrong. I’d never complain about kinda bad food if it’s cheap. It’s actually expensive now. I get inflation but this is ridiculous

  22. Euphoric-Fan8599

Ngl as much as the newer items look good I just stick to the Mexican pizza and DL tacos u can’t go wrong and because the way it’s made they can’t fuck it up or if it is fucked up it’ll still taste the same just be a lil ugly lol

  23. Jigglymuffs

Anyone buying any thing besides a box right now, is the idiot.

  24. SolChapelMbret

They don’t care. Stop buying their trash

  25. TheE3Guy

Yeah, Taco Bell is the latest victim of shrinkflation. Kinda ass now, ngl. I can get a bowl and a side of chips at Qdoba for <$11. The only thing I get from TB now are the five dollar boxes because they’re still a good value even if the food doesn’t blow me away.
