Why do my chips taste like oily burnt earwax?

Idk what actual earwax tastes like, but I imagine if you took melted earwax and cranked that heat up to burn these chips in them….that’s what I ate. I need answers for this heinous criminal act on my tastebuds.

A few people ask this everyday. I’m pretty sure the answer was solved and had something to do with the location neglecting to change the oil frequently or something like that.

Why the fuck does someone post this question every day?

Bad oil. Either from the fryer or from the chips being held long beyond the time they go bad. Either way, it’s rancid oil.

  4. I’ve seen some locations storing the bags of chips in a heating cabinet with bags of cinnamon twists, making the chips have a slightly cinnamon flavor, pretty gross.

Just stop getting the chips. I used to add them to every order when they were just a $1. After the price jump I only get them if it’s in a box option. Even then, half the time they are how you described. I can’t imagine actually spending like $3 and getting a bad bag.
