It seems Taco Bell has been increasing prices on some of their popular value menu items recently. On March 4th, I had noticed the price of the Build Your Own Cravings Box in Arizona. This is different and was previously cheaper.
They have now increased the price of the Build Your Own Cravings Box, and removed the cheesy gordita crunch box from the menu it’s as if they knew they were making more money keeping that combo available knowing damn well a cravings box is the same thing but cheaper.
The rising prices are concerning, especially when items like those on the Cantina menu seem overpriced for what I get – mostly filler ingredients like cabbage, with small portions of more valuable ingredients like chicken and cheese.
It makes me wonder if Taco Bell is testing the waters by gradually hiking prices until they start losing customers. Then they may readjust and lower prices again to find the sweet spot for maximizing profits while retaining enough customers. Unless portion sizes or ingredient quality improves, I have to limit myself to just the Build Your Own Cravings Box going forward due to the high markups on other items.
