What is wrong with my leaves? What should I do about it?

I grow peppers in my classroom. I gave them a good watering before leaving for the weekend. I came back after the weekend to find many of the plants having leaves like this. The edges or ends of some of the leaves have gone dark green, and are dry and brittle.
