Every pequin I’ve ever seen has been small, round, about the size of one edamame bean. Just like the yellow pack in the pic. I found this other package that looks almost like arbol but clearly called pequin. What gives?
Looks like someone at the packing facility got mixed up.
From my experience/what I’ve seen: small are pequin chiles, the bigs are tepin chiles a/k/a chiletepin. I believe they both have a very similar flavor profile, and know that tepin is great in a basic tomato salsa.
