Could these be done in an air fryer?
Yeah, I love this channel, but beef and rice is not a meal. There's practically no nutritional value.
You CAN make this in the time it takes for your rice cooker to do its work. However. If you have longer, you should velvet the beef beforehand, it will make it even better.
Looks really good. But the way you pronounce jalapeno really irks me. It's "peñ" not "peeñ" lol.
If you double fry the beef you will get a crispier texture. Do the first fry at 325F until the batter turns pale and the second at 365F until you get a golden color. The first fry brings the moisture to the surface, the rest drives off a lot of it, the the second fry creates a "glace" surface over the beef (or whatever). Kenji did a bit of an explainer last week on this process, and Adam Ragusea did too.
when he lifted up the one piece of coated uncooked beef i thought he was gonna eat it
6:25 the way he shovels food off that spoon using only his top teeth to throw it into his mouth is insane.
Not underrated at all
Surprised to hear this described as 'underrated'. Perhaps in the states but it's extremely popular in the UK!
Thank you for remaining true to your craft Ethan, unlike so many of these other “chefs” on YT who sold out . Your videos are a breath of fresh air
It upsets me that you don't describe your ratio as 2:2:2:1
I'm surprised you didn't add the baking soda to the beef?
What an utterly disgusting eater he is.
Are those bites AI?😂
He seemed so sensible, yet here he is, treating a spoon like a dental scraper 6:27. We live in a society people! Proper etiquette dictates using your lips to gently remove food, not auditioning for a role as a human chalkboard.
First principles, frameworks and ratios are game changers!
I really like the way you structure the recipe in flavor profiles. This is such a great way to do it.
LOOK HERE CHLEBOWSKIIII. Can you please do versions without a wok on an electric?
@ethan will the same mix work for Chicken too or should i proceed ur differently? I am a Hindu so I can't eat beef
Today I just happened to do Mongolian Chicken for lunch. Same same, but different 👍
Omg, its so good 🤤
I just went grocery shopping & I forgot roast beef, but I bought a ton of chicken breast. I’m going to make this with chicken for dinner! Thanks
idk what kind of vinegar you have but pretty sure 50g of actual 9% will have my taste buds destroyed
The dash 8 was 100% the reason we have the 707. Which was turned into the 727 , 737& 757…
Boeing has f%&ked this contract up so hard having lost it on merit 3 times to Airbus!….
Boeing is bad!
Coming from Calgary, ginger beef.
No, we don't.
Many Chinese restaurants will quickly coat their beef in baking soda to tenderize it a little.
Dude… I always found dishes like this to be overwhelming but you really broke it down well. I'm going to try it!!!
Would you add baking soda to tenderise the meat?
You're supposed to use unsweetened ketchup. And the odds of successfully making this crispy is low for any home cook. Rather just have a nice healthy stir fry.
Good stuff. Its like beijing beef from panda express.
i am so fucking hungry
You have easily revitalized my passion for cooking by your scientific breakdowns of everything in the kitchen. I’m now also enjoying your recipes and rationale. Well done and keep up your stellar work!
It’s a massively popular dish in the UK. I first started eating it 35 plus years ago and haven’t stopped. Unfortunately I haven’t lived in the UK for the last 23 years and Chinese in Spain isn’t great imo and they certainly don’t do Deep Fried Shredded Beef with Chilli. However whenever I’m back in London I eat at least 2 portions at the restaurant/takeaway🤣🤣 there are lots of very good UK recipes on line👍👍
