Learn how to make the ultimate Gochujang Sauce at home with this easy, 5-minute recipe. This versatile Korean chili sauce balances savory umami, fermented heat, and a touch of sweetness for the perfect glaze or dip.
If you’ve ever wondered how to use that tub of Korean chili paste sitting in your fridge, this Gochujang Sauce recipe is the answer. Gochujang is a staple of Korean cuisine, known for its deep, complex flavor made from fermented soybeans, glutinous rice, and red chili flakes. It’s a thick, pungent paste, but when transformed into a pourable sauce, it becomes a culinary powerhouse.
In this video, we’ll combine the heat of the gochujang paste with the nuttiness of toasted sesame oil and the salty depth of high-quality soy sauce, bright rice vinegar for acidity and a touch of honey to mellow the spice. Whether you are a fan of spicy food or just looking to experiment with global flavors, this sauce is a must-have in your refrigerator. It’s WAY better than store-bought versions because you can control the salt and sugar levels to suit your palate.

I love it. Thank you
ou yeah😋😋 must work this😋😋 awesome resept against 🤘 great videos 🤘😎🤘🤘
I use a sauce like that for dipping lumpia in. It's also great with dipping seaweed wrapped rice, pan fried spam, and avocado.
You can also use corn syrup if you have someone that has honey allergies. In some recipes I use maple syrup when honey is listed because my daughter can't have honey.
Tofu, rice, noodles, lentils, beans and I dip my bread into it. Or use it as a spread on a sandwich. Love this stuff. Great looking recipe!
Simple and easy to make. Thanks
I love Gochujang. Thanks for more ways to use it!
I make mine the same way, but I add garlic & ginger to it.
How addictive is it?!
I made a quick stir fry tonight with onions, garlic, ginger and leftover pork roast. Ate it over rice. It was nice and spicy. Pork sandwiches for lunch tomorrow.
Okay Mike you got me… I don't know what this is!!! I'm sure I've eaten it but am not familiar that's for sure! #EXOTIC
I have exactly that gochujang package at home, i use it sometimes as extra falvouring but that sause will be tested this weekend 🙂 thank you
Yes! Gochujang, and its little brother gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) will never leave my kitchen. They aren't super spicy, but bring a nice gentle kick. Gochugaru is a lot like Aleppo pepper flakes for those that are familiar.
can't believe you told everyone what your secret weapon WAS, big mistake bro!
Now I'm sad I'm out of my fermented garlic honey to try with this!
I've really been enjoying the art of preparing Chinese cuisine at home. At first I used store bought sauce brands, some really good, but I've really enjoyed trying out your Chinese sauce recipes over just a bowl of noodles or rice, with a handful of mixed veggies, for a quick, one or two person meal. Keep 'em coming!
That stuff is killer with any smothered meat!
Me, thinking Mike was going to show me how to make homemade gochujang: 😃
Me, hearing the first ingredient is gochujang: 😐
I lived in Korea for years and I love gochujang. I make decent Asian Ribs but I didn't have a sauce, that is until now. Thanks brother.
just made the sauce and put in the fridge, on deck for some midweek noodles!
Use this with raw garlic in it, n1
That's basically the sauce I make for my stir fry dishes, just without the sesame oil. I usually dash some toasted sesame oil over the dish at the end as a finishing oil though.
This looks wonderful!
