Fogo De Chao – Malagueta – OBITUARY REVIEW

Here lies Fogo De Chao Malagueta –

8.3/10

I don’t remember where I first met this sauce. Apparently, you can get it at the restaurants themselves, or Instacart! I wrote down that I got this sauce for only $1.99, which is an AMAZING price for this. I’ve never been before, but the menu looks solid, albeit a little expensive. If you’re unfamiliar, Fogo De Chao is a Brazilian steakhouse, known for carving the fire-cooked meats right there at the table for the customers. According to the interwebs, you can buy all-you-can-eat meat and salad bar. The fried plantains look delicious (chime in the comments)! Saúde, lets get into the review!

REVIEW: This sauce is really simple, and thus makes it easily applicable to mostly everything you’d want to put a bright and tangy sauce on. The heat comes punching straight out the gate, not building too much. I had this sauce in January, and I’m still able to recall the taste of this one like I had it this morning. It is quite reminiscent of Tabasco, and I mean that in the best of ways. It’s really vinegar forward and adds a huge pop of flavor since I’d say there are more peppers to vinegar ratio, and is about twice as much heat as that comparison. When I review sauces, I usually only put them on my breakfast burritos, but for this one I decided to try it on a chicken salad, and also got some naked wings and covered them in this. My mouth is LITERALLY watering thinking about that. This sauce is thin, no chunks, no granules. No sweetness at all. The only downside I can imagine people having towards this sauce is either the soybean oil or the xanthan gum, which i think is minimally used in there. I was so pleasantly surprised at this, and I would use this as a staple if it were more easily accessible during my grocery runs. Rest in Peace, Spicy Prince
